$60 MILLION IN TAX DOLLARS
Tax payers in South Carolina and in Chester County offered Giti Tire more than $60 million in state and local aid to build their facility in Richburg in exchange for 1,700 good jobs.
Giti Tire Group is one of the world’s largest tire manufacturers. It is based in Singapore and operates facilities across the globe, with dozens in Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East.

Not only are they behind on their timetable for hiring workers, but the jobs that have been created also are not the family-sustaining, community-enriching jobs Giti promised.
Workers make between $4 and $8 less than the national average manufacturing wage.
Giti got more than $9.8 million in Paycheck Protection Program aid that was meant to help small businesses weather the COVID-19 pandemic.
Giti obviously is not a small business and instead of using that money to protect jobs in our community, Giti laid off hundreds and many of them permanently.
